Our club is lucky to have some very talented entertainers among our membership. We want to highlight their work and hope that we can support them at local events whenever possible. Are there others out there? Let us know!
Walt Kulwicki
Many of us know Walt Kulwicki, long time club member, as a veteran guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, who co-founded the St. Augustine-based band, Those Guys, in 1992. With over 40 years' experience, Walt has performed with major artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot and Bo Diddley. Walt is known for blending Southern Rock with various styles in both full-band and solo performances. Early influences include Duane Allman, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. Walt is also a founding member of the St. Augustine Music Hall of Fame. The Phuncoast Parrothead Club is lucky to hear Walt at local venues, including our first Social of the Year on January 23 at Lagerhead's. Walt will be performing January 31 at St. Augustine Shores Golf Club. Kenny Yarbrough (Lead singer of Landfall)
Few performers have generated a more passionate fan base or influenced more lifestyles than singer Jimmy Buffett. In his 60-plus year career, JB released 32 studio albums, numerous Live albums, a Broadway soundtrack, and five novels. In addition to his media offerings Buffett licensed his name to a chain of restaurants and resorts as well as a line of Margaritaville Rum, Tequila and Landshark Beer. His untimely death in 2023 led to a re-birth of Buffett's music and a nostalgic longing for the carefree, tipsy spirit his lifestyle and shows inspired.
Based in St. Augustine, Florida, "LANDFALL - Celebrating the Music & Spirit of Jimmy Buffett," has entertained crowds across the state since the group's inception in 2023. The band was formed following the death of the legendary performer and celebrates a musical catalogue spanning six decades and thirty-two studio albums. Fans enjoy familiar classics like Margaritaville and FINS, along with deeper cuts, rarities, and Jimmy's newer material at each show. The variety of music and incorporated storytelling sets this tribute band apart from any other.
As lead singer Kenny Yarbrough puts it, “I had been a fan since I was a young kid myself. I grew up on the water and on boats, began sailing at 6 years old. I was sailing the Caribbean in my early 20’s, and JB was always the soundtrack. Our performances are done with much love and respect for Mr. Buffett. Simply put, Jimmy's music makes people happy, and it's an honor to perform these great old songs to such enthusiastic audiences".
Kenny and Landfall are appearing up and down our coast on dates that are rapidly coming up. Club members have many opportunities to hear them locally as well as at 2026 Parrothead Rendezvous on April 25 in Panama City.
